 'Revive' Launch
On 8 January 2009, International Headquarters celebrated the 'launch' of Revive. Its predecessors, Home League Exchange and Global Exchange had been created for the exchange of information, personal experience and resources among Salvation Army women leadership.
Once again, 15 years later, God-given vision has inspired Revive - (still) equipping women for ministry and mission. Revive has been created keeping in mind the mission of Salvation Army ministry that is enriched by all women. Revive is intent on expanding the readership from just Salvation Army women leadership to all women interested in ministry and/or personal, spiritual development. Although Revive will keep its Salvation Army flair, the magazine keeps in mind the members of our worldwide Church who have shown interest in its presentation.

The aim of Revive is to connect women internationally through stories, columns and resources relevant to today. Its goal is to bring women into a profound understanding of their personal relationship with Jesus Christ while encouraging and aiding their ministries.

Just over a year ago, Captain Maria Pantelidis (right) with her husband started The Salvation Army's work in Greece. She took interest in a women's group that ministers in Thessalonica's red-light district every Thursday night called 'Open Doors'. Maria and the team of women have been reaching out to prostitutes, rescuing them from brothels and helping the women to restore their dignity by assisting them in their search for new accommodation and employment.

The Salvation Army celebrated 125 years of work in Pakistan at the end of 2008. A drama presentation told the story of the Army's humble beginnings in that country, and of its present and future hopes.
Did you know that a young woman officer started The Salvation Army in Lahore? In 1883, Victoria Roberts was asked by Frederick Booth-Tucker, pioneer of the Army in India, to go to Lahore. Crowds pressed in so they could see the European woman who was dressed in Asian clothing and preaching.
