With an estimated five million people walking past the front door every year, The Salvation Army’s International Headquarters in London – on the walkway from St Paul’s Cathedral to the Millennium Footbridge and on to the Tate Modern Gallery – probably has the potential to be seen by more people than any other Salvation Army centre.
The 2006 Christmas display left passers-by in no doubt as to the reason for the season, thanks to a larger-than-lifesize Nativity scene, made out of perspex to match the look of the building.

These pictures show the final display as well as shots of designer Berni Georges and IHQ handyman Graham Newman putting the display together and even one of All the World Editor Kevin Sims braving a 20-foot drop to get a wandering sheep into just the right place!
