Out of the Fire

Bushfires in February 2009 in the Australian state of Victoria killed more than 200 people and left thousands homeless, eventually coming to be recognised as the worst disaster to hit the country in modern times. This article provides examples of the practical, emotional and spiritual support given by Salvationists and Salvation Army officers during this time.

Moving On

On 26 December 2004 Aceh became a household name as news of its almost total devastation spread round the world. Now, thanks in part to the work of The Salvation Army in building new homes, people are returning to their lives and trying to start again.

A new organisation was formed to continue the work begun in Iraq by The Salvation Army, but for security reasons the link was not publicised. Now the people in Iraq feel happy to make their link with The Salvation Army public.
