You are in: Food Distribution
At Harbour Light there are several drivers, both staff and volunteers, working hard everyday to pick up and bring in the generous food donations from community and local businesses. Always thankful to the generous donors, the Donations Distribution Coordinator strives to get the donations to the loading dock as efficiently as possible. Once all the items are recorded as received, there is coordination with the Harbour Light Kitchen Manager to discuss the food needs of the clients and the feeding program. Inevitably there will be more food donated than can be used at Harbour Light alone. The Donations Distribution Manager has developed a system to effectively redistribute food to the area Salvation Army's, as well as other shelters and centers in need.

Ferndale Farm:
The Ferndale Farm and Food Distribution Program represents a unique partnership between Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) and Harbour Light. Established in 2004 the purpose of the program is to support the offenders reintegration process by teaching transferable job skills in organic agriculture as well as to contribute to the health and well-being of those in need by donating the produce grown at the farm to Harbour Light and other food providers throughout the Lower Mainland.
