To meet individual spiritual needs, provide resources, strengthen links with community church, and to establish follow-ups, referrals, and protocols.
Highlights of the Chaplaincy/Pastoral Care
- Spiritual Services
o Spiritual assessment (where clients are at and what they think).
o Spiritual counseling
o Christian values classes
o Daily spiritual reflection (devotion)
o Pastoral care- including other faith beliefs
o Provide resources such as Bibles. Booklets, videos, pamphlets and music
Partnerships
Strategic partnerships for the benefit of the department include the Harbour Light Community Church, the 614 Corps, and other Salvation Army and Christian churches. Relationships are also established with Vancouver Family Services, Miracle Valley, and outreach programs such as Cariboo Hill, East Vancouver Care and Share, and Union Gospel Mission.
